Letting Go of Holiday Perfection: Embracing Simplicity This December

The holidays once weighed me down,

With perfection’s heavy crown.

A perfect tree, each gift just right,

Exhausted by the endless fight.

I chased a picture, bright and clear,

But lost the joy, year by year.

Laughter faded as time flew,

While I pursued a flawless view.

One quiet night, amidst the mess,

I paused to ask, “Why all this stress?

A truth unfolded, simple and true:

Perfection dims what love can do.

No longer bound by “must” and “should,”

I focus now on what feels good.

Presence, rest, and gratitude,

They help improve my attitude.

Let us all, this season, see,

The beauty in simplicity.

Release the need for perfect art,

And hold the season in your heart.

Wishing you peace and joy this year,

In all the ways that feel sincere.

XO,

Coach Niks
